Polarity Management Associates developed an outstanding sequence of education and training programs for consultants. Beginning with the basic PM Foundations, a consultant could move on to the Consultant Development Intensive for full immersion in the Polarity methodology. The CDI was itself a prerequisite for the PMAP Software Certification and ultimately for the Polarity Management Mastery Program.

As the course offerings expanded, it wasn’t obvious which programs by which instructors were prerequisites of others. I developed this loose graphic as a representation of the various Roads to Mastery.

2. foundations in polarity management

For prospective consultants taking a look at the Polarity educational programs, the typical dry business graphics most consultants used were pretty uninspiring. And while the upgraded Polarity Map and PMAP software were incredibly rich and deep, they could also be intimidating.

So for the first stage on the Road to Mastery I created a playful take on the Polarity Map and signature infinity loop. This mark was used in e-blasts and marketing, and for the coursework binder and related print materials.

3. an introduction in powerpoint

In keeping with the playfulness of the Foundations program, this animated PowerPoint introduction to Polarity Management ramps easily from a typical conflict situation into one of the bedrock “aha” teachable points — the breathing metaphor. With subtle but meaningful color cues and simple but intentional layout, the graphic evolves seamlessly into an introduction of the two-poles, the infinity loop, the synergy arrows, and ultimately the Polarity Map.
