Every day each of us needs to make a stand against global warming in thousands of little ways. We need to say goodbye to the things in our life that are sustainable, and have the will power to choose a lifestyle with a smaller footprint.

2. 2008

Whether you were a Republican or Democrat in 2008, it was impossible to ignore the disastrous fallout from 8 years under Bush’s fossil-fuel-friendly administration on the topic of global warming (to say nothing of wars for oil). Many of us pinned significant hopes on Obama’s promise to finally address climate change in a mature way.

Sadly, Obama didn’t fare much better in his first term — although it’s easy to cut him slack for having to first put out the fires Bush had lit in the economy, housing and mortgage, banking, war and international affairs.
