This design received by far the most positive response from the entire student body and family community of any graphic I did during the 9 years my kids were at The Oaks School.

I love it too, but to me it lost some of it’s magic when the school admin vetoed my original tagline, “Where the Oaks goes wild!”.

The inception of illustrating the “o a k s” letters as ‘wild things’ was a play on the camp location at Idyllwild, CA, and of course a wink to scary-delightful creatures of Where The Wild Things Are.

I created a custom brush in Photoshop to render this erratic furry silhouette.
